The DCFA Affordable Food Programme is designed to make sure that the people in our community have access to the essential food items they need to thrive. Here's how we make that happen:
Working with our fantastic partners in the food industry, including producers and supermarkets, we rescue surplus food that would otherwise end up in landfills. It's not just about preventing waste—it's about making sure perfectly good food reaches those who need it most.
We team up with local organisations to ensure that the food we save gets to the people who need it most. It's all about community effort and making sure that everyone has enough to eat.
Whether it's through our Plymouth Hub or at pop-up events around the area, we're here to provide essential food items directly to individuals and families facing hardship. No referrals are needed, but we do ask that you pre-order and bring your shopping bags. We look forward to seeing you and helping in any way we can.

For just £30 you get a trolley load of essential items that are worth much more—it's incredible value and helps support our mission. Here’s what you can expect in a typical package:
- Fresh Fruit and Vegetables: Nutritious options that are good for you and your family.
- Cupboard Staples: Everyday essentials like pasta, rice, bread, tins, cereal, tea, coffee, and even some treats like crisps or cakes.
- Frozen Food: Convenient and nourishing choices to keep your meals varied and wholesome.
